“Sim” brings together 20 poems written by Eliete Della Violla and also drawings produced using handmade stamps: all lined up by a graphic design carefully thought out by the artist.
Some of the ideas that run through the book include: the body and its physical and poetic existence, the genesis of matter and life, life and death, the feminine and even verses from a prism very close to the poet, her grandfather Guaracy. It’s impossible not to feel the influence of Clarice Lispector’s troubled waters in Eliete’s writings. In fact, the epigraph of “Sim” is the first sentence of the book “A hora da estrela” and sets up an interesting trigger for what you will read – and see – in the following pages. The publication was supported by the Sorocaba Culture Incentive Law.
